Wednesday, April 1st (6 p.m.): Presanctified liturgy. Goyans will read the readings and
the psalms of the liturgy. It will be followed by the Lenten Supper at the church hall
Friday, April 3rd (6 p.m.): Service of the acathyst hymn of the holy Virgin Mary the
Theotokos. All four stanzas of the salutations of the Virgin Mary will be chanted.
Sunday, April 5th (9 a.m.): Fifth Sunday of Lent; matins and Divine Liturgy.
Saturday, April 11th (9 a.m.): Saturday of Lazaros. Divine Liturgy followed by making the
palm crosses at the church hall. Our children, ladies and G.O.Y.A. members are asked to
come and prepare the Palm Sunday crosses.
Sunday, April 12th: Palm Sunday; matins and Divine Liturgy. The blessings and the
distribution of palms to the congregation.
Sunday, April 12th (6 p.m.): Nymphios (bridegroom) service. Holy week begins.
Monday, April 13th (6:00 p.m.): Holy and Great Monday; the nymphios service.
Tuesday, April 14th (6:00 p.m.): Holy and Great Tuesday; nymphios service, chanting of
the hymn of kassianis.
Wednesday, April 15th (9 a.m.): Holy and Great Wednesday; presanctified liturgy.
Wednesday, April 15th (6:00 p.m.): Sacrament of the Holy Unction followed by the
drawing of the Easter raffle at the church hall at 8:00 p.m.
Thursday, April 16th (9 a.m.): Holy and Great Thursday; the institution of the Holy
Eucharist, Divine Liturgy, Holy Communion.
Thursday, April 16th: Holy Passions of our Lord, the readings of the twelve gospels and
the procession of the holy cross
Friday, April 17th (9 a.m.): Great and Holy Friday. The divine hours of the passions of
our Lord followed by preparations and the decoration of the Epitaphion with flowers, all
ladies and young people of our church are invited to help.
Friday, April 17th (3 p.m.): Holy Vespers and the service of the taking down the body of
Jesus from the cross and placing it in the Epitaphion.
Friday, April 17th (7 p.m.): Epitaphios Threnos, the lamentations, the procession of the
Epitaphion and the distribution of the sacred flowers to the congregation.
Saturday, April 18th (7 a.m.): Holy and Great Saturday; Divine Liturgy and Holy
Communion followed by the preparation of the church for the resurrection service.
Saturday, April 18th (11 p.m.): Easter vigil. The resurrection service will be celebrated at
midnight followed by the paschal Divine Liturgy and the distribution of Easter eggs to end
about 1:30 a.m.
Sunday, April 19th (11 a.m.): Holy Pascha, Easter service of agape (love). The
procession of the icon of the resurrection and its veneration by the congregation, the
distribution of Easter eggs to all.
Wednesday, April 22nd (7 p.m.): Vespers Service of the Feast of St. George followed
by a reception in the church hall by our Ladies Philoptochos Society.
Thursday, April 23rd (9 a.m.): Feast of St. George the Great Martyr, patron saint of our
parish; matins and Divine Liturgy.
Sunday, April 26th (9 a.m.): St. Thomas Sunday; matins and Divine Liturgy.
